When the selector lever is in reverse, the center console screen displays an image captured by the rear view camera to show you what is behind the Legacy.  The position closer to the center of the vehicle as well as the wide angle of the camera allow it to provide a more natural image, without distortion. Dynamic guide lines tell the driver which direction to turn the steering wheel, a new feature that makes reversing maneuvers even easier.

Available as an option from the Touring version, this system perceives people or objects behind the vehicle and automatically applies the brakes when a collision seems imminent. It also includes a warning function that alerts the driver to the distance between the Legacy and the person or object, using various types of alerts.
